My go-to products for curly hair!

So let's be honest...we've all had our fair share of awkward hair styles, but curly hair without essential products makes it worse! I'm not going to bore you (and potentially embarrass myself) with adolescent pics of my frizzy days so let's get to the good stuff! Cheers to these two products for making my curls more tame:

1. Coconut oil!!! Omg I love coconut oil. I opt for Costco's Kirkland Organic Coconut Oil.  If you're a swimmer, use this! If your hair gets a little dry like you're in a desert aka California weather, use it! I usually take a pea size amount and mix it with my hair gel after my hair has been washed to give my curls some moisture. Less is more here. Otherwise, your locks will look greasy! Before swimming, I'll usually add coconut oil and then dampen my hair befire NY swm. After a good wash, it's still kind of in your hair so the hair is still moisturized from the oil and not chlorine. And the best part is coconut oil is all natural! I use it as lotion, too 🙂

I usually fill a smaller Mason jar with oil because the Costco container is huge!

2. I absolutely love Paul Mitchell's Firm Hold Tea Tree gel. While I'm a firm believer in natural products, I also need something with good hold to keep my hair in place. I've tried countless natural and non-natural products and Paul Mitchell's Firm Hold Tea Tree gel is the best! Again, a little goes a long way. I usually squeeze two pea size blobs and mix with oil to my hair when it's damp.

I swear by this gel!

A little more oil softens the curls and pats them down.

Less oil and more gel gives it more volume and definition.Feel free to share your hair word and haircae secrets! I'm always curious to hear from fellow curly hair divas! 🙂😘
