Sorry for the hiatus from blogging!

Anyway, just got back from a lovely trip to Carmel and Monterey. Had some delicious and, sad to say it, gross coffee.  Here are my reviews:

Carmel

Right before heading to the water from Carmel's downtown, my boyfriend and I decided to grab some coffee. Carmel Valley Coffee Roasting Co. was the spot we chose, mostly because it sits smack dab on Ocean Avenue-great location in Carmel's European-style downtown.

However, the coffee sucked...I got a mocha with almond milk and everything just tasted fake and bitter.  While waiting for my drink, I noticed that they used mostly Torani syrups-super artificial, which explained my fake-tasting mocha. I drank about half of it, mostly because I needed caffeine cuz I was feeling sleepy, but it was unappetizing. I will say that the prices in Carmel and Monterey are very reasonable, though. $.30 extra for almond milk :)

Monterey

On Friday and Saturday mornings, we stopped at Parker-Lusseau Pastries & Cafe on Mundas St. on the first day, I got a regular almond latte.  It didn't taste as amazing in its own but tag it alongside an almond croissant and wow...perfection.  The almond croissant is what they're known for and it it's delicious.  My boyfriend got a mocha and it rocked but his chocolate croissant was okay...nothing special.

On Saturday morning, I grabbed an almond mocha and I loved it; they use high quality chocolate and it blends smoothly with their espresso; it made up for the crap coffee from Carmel. Prices are cheap as well; I actually purchased a small mocha but the lady made me a large instead. I didn't realize she charged me for a large as well because it was so cheap ($4.90 for a delicious 16-ounce almond mocha). Would definitely return here for the coffee and pastries. (4.5/5!)
