So...I definitely have come here A LOT and yes, I am the Yelp Duchess of this place. But that's beside the point.
Just to clarify, I didn't give this coffee shop a 5/5. I would give it a 4.5/5 and there's more to the story...
1. Bliss coffee has AMAZING specialty drinks! I am a HUGE fan of specialty drinks and I know that as a "true" coffee drinker, I should love coffee and espresso without added flavor...but...yeah...I def don't follow this. There are three amazing beverages here: the nutella latte (LOVE LOVE LOVE), the VB latte (they make their own vanilla without using those crap syrups that have tons of junk in them).
2. They carry super high quality beans from local distributors: Verve, Four Barrel, and Chromatic. Those are ALL of my favorite coffees because they are damn good. Beware, they may run out if you go later in the day but they usually stock something and they have samples of the beans up front for you to smell the aromas before making your choice; in addition, the beans they sell are slightly cheaper than if you were top buy at the actual coffee shop or at a Whole Foods location.
3. They have free (secured) WiFi and a cool indoor and outdoor setup. I love coming here to do work or to read a book and people watch. The free secured WiFi also allows me to come here during the school year to grade and take care of business, when I have to.
4. They are so nice and they know who you are. I come in a lot and I really like all of the employees. They all have a good vibe and they know their shit.
Sooo...here is why Bliss didn't get a perfect 5/5, though. There is still some slight bitterness when I drink their almond milk lattes without anything; thus, I usually add sugar or get the almond vb. The vb latte masks some of the bitter flavor, though, and the nutella latte is just plain delicious. For anyone who has been to Ipsento in Chicago...this drink reminds me of Ipsento's almond milk nutella latte. YUM! I still give this place SUPER props cuz they use high quality espresso, their latte art is fantastic (and I know how hard it is to do latte art for almond and soy milks).
I will keep coming back to Bliss. It is one major reason why I love Redwood City and I think they are wayyy better than Philz down the street. Come here...NOW!
