-Espresso Rosetta, Downtown Livermore
Was in the area and, sadly, I was too far
from Cafe 4 so I decided to try a local spot. I ended up at Espresso Rosetta.
They offer a wide range of beverages with various flavors, but I wasn't a huge fan of the fact that they use regular syrups that aren't made by them. so I opted for a mocha with almond milk. I was happy to hear that they use unsweetened almond milk, which usually doesn't happen at coffee shops, and they don't sweeten their mochas. The barista explained to me that she could add simply syrup or I could add it later so I opted for the latter. They also offer 8, 13, and 16 ounce sizes, which again allow for the customer to have options. I was super excited to try my "healthy" beverage at such a customer-oriented coffeeshop!
When my drink arrived, the latte art was beautiful: half was in chocolate and the other half was in the color of the almond milk. They definitely are talented with latte art, but let's jump to the flavor.
White chocolate mocha and almond milk mocha.
So...my mocha was bland :( I know the barista said I could add simple syrup or sugar if it wasn't sweet enough but even after I added raw sugar, my drink tasted like nothing. I did like how they don't burn their almond milk, though. But their mocha chocolate should at least have some bitterness or sharp flavors if it isn't sweetened. My boyfriend grabbed an 8 ounce white chocolate mocha and loved it. It was pretty sweet but I'll admit that it tasted really good, especially compared to my milk-flavored mocha.
The prices are standard: $9.50 for a 12 ounce almond milk mocha and an 8 ounce white chocolate mocha. Would I return again?! Prolly not...there are so many other options. but I will say that maybe I like their philosophy and Unsweetened milk.
