Sunday, November 20th -> Trouble Coffee
My apologies for my lack of blogging the last couple weeks. Was a little under the weather.
Anyway, went to Trouble Coffee in the Outer Sunset and was pleasantly surprised by their delicious toast; however, the coffee was something else.
lets start with the good...the toast was really yummy. I was iffy because I saw that the. Read they use is a white levain but it was perfectly toasted, nice and thick, and a generous amount of peanut butter and honey we're lathered on. The honey art was pretty, too. My friend and I went hiking after eating and that piece of toast kept me full the whole time. So definitely come here hungry for the toast :)
Now onto the not-so-fun review...I ordered an almond milk latte. I paid $4.50-$5 (can't remember because I also bought a slice of toast). I was kind of sad because I received a really small cup...probably an 8-10 ounce take away cup. I usually pay around $5 for a 12 ounce latte so this was kind of pricey. In addition, the latte tasted slightly burned. I didn't mind too much because it paired nicely with the toast but had I just gotten the latte, I would have been very disappointed with price and taste...I was still disappointed with the price.
Would definitely return for the toast. I do still love the toast at Reveille but Trouble is tasty, too. Wouldn't come back for the coffee. There's so much better coffee in the city so it's not worth it to suck it up here unless I'm getting it with toast and have no other caffeine option.
Overall coffee rating: 3/5
