Today, I finally checked out Counter Culture Coffee in SoMa and wow...was not disappointed :)
Perks of this place...let's try bullet point format today :):
*Excellent almond milk lattes (not bitter!): Added a bit of sugar but there was no bitterness, in general (just wanted the tad bit of sweetness :) ); they use Califia milk, which, when brewed correctly, makes for some really amazing almond milk lattes
*Super friendly and non-pretentious baristas; after coming from Reveille (for their homemade peanut butter and jam toast) and experiencing some pretension, it was a relief to chat with friendly baristas who are trying to make friends with customers, not shun them away. We even chatted about my blog :)
*Great ambiance to get work done-> super bright with bar stools and couch seating. I sat by a window because I enjoy looking out to San Francisco and people watching.
*Nice location; I like where this place is at because it is not a super nice block (I mean being a couple blocks from Westfield Valley Mall, it seems pretty shady), but I think that's what makes it special. It doesn't seem like many people really know about it except for locals so there is plenty of seating.
*Free secured WiFi! Need I say more? I really like when coffee shops have WiFi, but it is even better when there is a set password that they give to you, as opposed to free open WiFi, which can be pretty unsafe.
*They have food here now, which is apparently a new thing that the barista told me about. I saw toast! (and a wide array of other breakfasty and lunch items); they also apparently have their own wines and brews and a room in the back for this. Pretty awesome!
Really enjoyed coming here and will definitely return!
Overall: 5/5!
